Ms. West planted an orchard of both old Southern favorites and fruit trees in her yard. The dogwoods, sweet olive, and camellia complement the citrus and fig trees. In addition, her custom-made raised planter houses a variety of vegetables and ornamental flowers, all the while leaving plenty of room to run.
