Jeanell Holmes’ family has been in Holy Cross since the 1930’s where she was born and raised. She purchased the Lot Next Door with the vision of renovating the historic shot gun house to become a bed and breakfast, but since decided to keep it residential. Growing Home worked very closely with Jeanell to design and budget an outdoor space that is a tropical retreat in the back yard. The garden includes a shed/guest room, a kitchen garden, a deck off the back of the house, a flag stone patio and walkway bordered by shade loving tropical plants. She was also assisted by a group of students from Ecuador coordinated by Growing Home to help install the plantings.
