Mulch constantly needs to be replenished. A lower maintenance alternative to mulch are rocks such as gravel, river stones, lava rocks or marble chips as shown here at the Diggin’s lot. Here shrubs are shown off against a white bed of rocks and framed nicely with small boulders for edging.
